Important Notes:

  • Finding Your Perfect Match: Below are brief descriptions of some of our dogs that are available for adoption. Because the list is constantly changing, we recommend that you apply to adopt as soon as you are ready and work with an Adoption Coordinator, who can provide you with more info about dogs that are a good match for you and your lifestyle.

  • Adopting with Children: The safety of children in an adoptive home is one of our greatest priorities. Learn more about our approach to placing dogs in homes where little ones are present.

  • Adopting as a Townhome or Apartment Resident: As many of our dogs come from rural areas—where they have limited exposure to cars, new people and dogs, unexpected noises, and being leashed—we may limit placements for some dogs to single-family homes. Learn more >

  • Adopting & Fences: We require fences for some of our dogs for a range of reasons. Learn more >

  • Heartworm: About ten percent of our dogs are diagnosed with Heartworm disease during their initial vetting. Heartworm is treatable, and Lab Rescue provides treatment for all infected dogs at no cost to the adopter. Learn more >

Benny #2

Gender:

Male

Age:

12 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs, Townhomes

Needs:

A loving forever home with limited stairs

Benny is THE BEST!

Benny is one of the easiest going, friendliest pups you'll ever meet. His happy place is hanging out with his people, whether they are out in the yard, sitting reading, or working from home. Benny has been especially peppy on this Saturday with a few extra boys in the house for Foster brother's 13th birthday. He’s all excited and even went up the steps until he realized that was not exactly his best move and laid out on the floor, like "what do I do now?" He has the softest coat that just begs to be petted and a powdered-sugared snout that you'll surely want to boop (or kiss). This handsome older gentleman has a little hitch in his giddy up from arthritis, and his new home should not have a lot of stairs, either inside or out. He does love to trot around the yard a bit and take walks, but not too long. Benny really would like a yard to sunbath in with his humans and so that he doesn't have to go far to do his business. His fosters haven’t heard him bark and attest that he is a total gentleman in the house. What a dreamboat and delightful gent! He's a fun, easy-going guy, gentle and loving and an absolute sweetheart. Benny doesn't need much, just a caring forever home with humans to love and cuddle and hang out with.

Bud

Gender:

Male

Age:

10 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs, Cats, Townhomes

Needs:

A loving forever home; minimal stairs

Senior love bug

Bud is the most handsome old man who's full of love. He is easy going and likes to be with you. He loves getting attention, being brushed, and getting treats. He also enjoys lounging outside in the sun on his dog bed -- oh the joys of spring! He takes some time to warm up to people but when he does watch out for that awesome multicolored tail. He was  probably an outside dog and really likes being an inside dog. He will go out in the yard but after a few minutes goes to the door to come inside. His new home should not have a lot of stairs either inside or out as he can handle some stairs but not a lot. He is good on floors with rugs and is getting use to walking on hardwood floors. Bud is with a foster where he is doing well and is excited to be in a house. He is learning to be a much-loved member of the household and sometimes hogs the TV. He has great manners and is great with the resident dog and cat. Bud is fully house trained. He needs to find out what it is like to be able to spend his senior years with a family that will love and care for him every day. They will get a truly grateful, loving dog.

Chucky

Gender:

Male

Age:

10 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs, Townhomes

Needs:

A loving forever home where he would prefer to be the only dog

A sweet puddle of chocolate

Chucky is a people person searching for his people! Chucky enjoys lying at fosters' feet and having his ears rubbed.  He loves to curl up in a tight chocolate ball and lie on a folded towel on the kitchen floor or at the dinner table, where he is again at their feet, snoozing away. That's how he got his nickname, "The Chocolate Puddle." Every once in awhile he takes a long stretch which means that he wants a belly rub. How can anyone resist! And, then comes the long sigh. He is content but is also wishing for a forever home where he can bring oodles of love to his new family, who he's hoping will be home most of the day. Although he is very social with other dogs when he is out for a walk, he's looking for a home where he is the only game in town, as he has a lot of love to give and wants to share it exclusively with his new forever family. He continues to thrive in his foster home, and was the center of attention when a few vaccinated neighbors came over for a cocktail in the front yard on Saturday. He laid down in the middle of everyone and enjoyed all of the loving strokes. He has a great appetite and is definitely food-driven. He loves being given treats (slice of apple with a dab of peanut butter) after he has been a good boy. He is really listening well to all commands, including being obedient when his foster mom and dad ask him to sit before he goes inside the house so that they can wipe off his muddy paws after a very wet weekend. He is comforted by company and loves knowing that his foster dad is right there for him. Loyalty is in Chucky’s DNA and he is looking for that special bond with his new owner.

Be My Valentine

Handsome Papa is looking for a place to land! This very affectionate senior is looking for someone to shower with love during his Golden Years. He's a soft-spoken, soulful-eyed, slow-paced gentleman with a beautiful coat and big paws. While Papa doesn't see or hear quite as well as he used to, he still is a puppy at heart! This quiet, very reserved, older, slow moving gent was hopping, barking, and wild tail wagging when he saw the neighbor throwing a frisbee with his dog! Papa is very friendly and enjoys being close to his people. Since his vision and hearing aren't as great as they once were, he would do best in a home with an older or calmer canine sibling he can take cues from. He would also love a home with minimal stairs so he can stay as close to his people as possible. He'd also love a family that is home more often than not. Papa is a lovely older gentleman ready to find his forever people!

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home

A loving forever home

Riley is a loving, gentle soul who adores his humans. He loves to go for walks and gets excited when the leash comes out, which is all part of his post-holiday weight-loss plan. It's going well. However, his forever family will need to commit to helping Riley get down to his fighting weight to help with his hip health and make sure he can go on longer walks for many years to come. He will also benefit by limited stairs and non-slip floors. This young-at-heart, happy senior enjoys his toys, reacting very playfully to anything that squeaks, and he loves to retrieve. When not playing, he's happy to lie down in the bed nearest to a human and doze off. He's also delighted to be your work-from-home buddy, though he may snore during his nap break! If you'd like to turn this sweet chocolate chunk into a hunk who will love you forever, come see Riley today!
