Important Notes:

  • Finding Your Perfect Match: Below are brief descriptions of some of our dogs that are available for adoption. Because the list is constantly changing, we recommend that you apply to adopt as soon as you are ready and work with an Adoption Coordinator, who can provide you with more info about dogs that are a good match for you and your lifestyle.

  • Adopting with Children: The safety of children in an adoptive home is one of our greatest priorities. Learn more about our approach to placing dogs in homes where little ones are present.

  • Adopting as a Townhome or Apartment Resident: As many of our dogs come from rural areas—where they have limited exposure to cars, new people and dogs, unexpected noises, and being leashed—we may limit placements for some dogs to single-family homes. Learn more >

  • Adopting & Fences: We require fences for some of our dogs for a range of reasons. Learn more >

  • Heartworm: About ten percent of our dogs are diagnosed with Heartworm disease during their initial vetting. Heartworm is treatable, and Lab Rescue provides treatment for all infected dogs at no cost to the adopter. Learn more >

Abby and Fenwick

Gender:

Female/Male bonded pair

Age:

Both 9 years old

Good with:

Kids 10+ Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home

Two loving butterballs!

THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE COMBINED ADOPTION FEE IS $250.

laddy Fenwick and lovely lassie Abby are done roaming the moors! They're ready for a nice warm bed and plenty o' cuddles. These older siblings are distinguished and calm, but friendly seniors. Both know a few cues (sit, stay, down, and easy). Fenwick and Abby are quite large, so if their new family finds they pull too hard for them, we recommend EZ-Walk harnesses. The pair were surrendered to the shelter together and reported to be bonded, so must be adopted together. These gentle giants are good with other dogs, but unknown with cats. If you're ready to warm up with cocoa and cuddles, come meet Fenwick and Abby today! They have wonderful dispositions and personalities to share with their new family.

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs, Cats

Needs:

A loving forever home

Truly an angel!

THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.

Angel has blossomed swince she came to us! She has gone from an anxious, pacing dog to a comfortable, semi-independent sweetheart. It may be that she has learned that her fosters’ home exists and functions for the dogs, and there are many, many comfy and safe spots for dogs. Angel has also learned that rides in the car are good and will stretch out for the ride. She absolutely loves the other dogs in the house and will often engage in gentle play. Angel also does an excellent sploot and is quite beautiful. Her youthful vigor is impressive. She is going to be a delight for somebody.

Bruno#2 and Uma

Gender:

Male/Female Bonded Pair`

Age:

12 years/12 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs, Cats

Needs:

A loving forever home

Golden year goodies!

Adorable senior siblings Bruno and Uma are in need of a new home! This lovely pair has been enjoying their Golden Years with leisurely walks and relaxing at home. These two arrived at their foster home this past week and have settled in nicely. They are a loving pair who are house trained and very well-behaved. Multilingual, these pups know cues (sit, let's go, no, stop, come, let's eat, water) in English, Spanish, and Portuguese! They love going for short walks through the neighborhood each morning and before bedtime at night and have great leash manners. Bruno & Uma are also enjoying having a backyard to play in and explore during the day. Bruno loves sunbathing and Uma likes to play fetch with a tennis ball. Of course, they also adore hanging with their people and would love a home where they can continue to dote on a loving human (or two or three!). Both are comfortable with car rides, enjoy pools, and occassionally Uma likes retrieving, while Bruno enjoys watching the game. If you'd like a double dose of Golden Year goodies, come meet Bruno and Uma today!

Jacey

Gender:

Female

Age:

9 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home with a physical fence and another dog

Happy girl just finding her way!

Jacey's tail will not stop wagging, even when she is uncertain! This girl has made tremendous progress in her foster home, but she can still be timid and unsure at times. She is a gentle kind soul who wants so much to be loved; she's continuing to work on being brave in order get the attention she seems to crave. Foster mom reports she is happy girl despite her past and loves to stand quietly and be petted. Her favorite thing however, is playing with her best friend, the resident dog! They love to wrestle and run about in the yard. Jacey is so excited to see her friend every morning. She will need a home with another dog who is just as playful and confident as her newest friend. Jacey sleeps on a dog bed at night, and is both house-trained and crate-trained. In fact she loves her crate, since she realized it means treats...she will just run right in and wait! Jacey needs a quiet home in a more rural area for her to be her most relaxed self. Foster tells us that as long as her new family can be patient with this sweet gal, and has a canine buddy for her to romp with, she will be a sweet and easy addition to their lives. Jacey is considered hospice due to the malignant growth in her mouth, but she doesn't know she's sick. Jacey is on the smaller side for a Lab, so if you're looking for a pocket-size Lab, she'll be a great fit! If you'd like to give a good girl all the love, come meet Jacey today!

Jethro

Gender:

Male

Age:

9 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home with a physical fence

Jaunty Jethro

THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIORS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS ONLY $125.

Jethro is hoping he will have a rags to riches story! His recent story is sad as his owner passed away and a neighbor was coming to feed him. But now that he's come to Lab Rescue, Jethro knows his Beverly Hills is just around the corner. Jethro is proving to be a very happy camper at his foster home while he awaits a forever situation. He is a fantastic house guest that does not require a crate at any time. He loves the outdoors and does very well walking on a leash. Jethro maintains a youthful exuberance despite his age. He has a great energy level that can bring joy during play, and peace during calm. He does love a good nap after play, as do we all. The foster for this positive canine reports he has both a happy bark, and a resting smile. With that combination, how can Jethro not brighten up an adopters day? He needs a home with limited steps for those old man joints. He likes to walk around and explore outside. He's a friendly, very-good-boy who will make some family very happy. With loving care from a new family, Jethro will become a delicious chocolate anyone would crave!

Keira

Gender:

Female

Age:

10 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs, Cats

Needs:

A loving forever home with a physical fence and another dog

Special lady!

THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.

Keira is a sweet gal who deserves the happiest forever home. While Keira is initially shy when meeting new people, she warms up quickly, especially if you have treats! She's really good with other dogs and cats. Inside, she has good house manners, but our girl is still working extending her time between potty breaks, a solid routine is making a dramatic difference. She is fine when left for about 4 hours (a mid-day dogwalker has been very beneficial for her) and she sleeps through the night. She'll do best in a quiet low-key home in a rural/quiet neighborhood with a fenced yard. Our sweet Keira will definitely need a confident canine companion as well. She walks nicely on a leash but needs a home with no steps or very limited steps. Keira is really a lovely girl with a sweet loving demeanor. Because she had a malignancy removed on her foot, she is considered a hospice dog.

Lacey

Gender:

Female

Age:

9 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home with a physical fence

Beautiful Fox Red Sweetheart!

THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.

Lacey is looking for a loving home! This former farm momma is retired from breeding after 6 litters--her last was May 2025! Lacey was a gentle, doting mother who took wonderful care of all of her puppies. However, she is very much looking forward to retirement and some me time! Lacey is a sweet and affectionate dog with an incredible disposition. She is gentle, with an exceedingly soft mouth, loves to cuddle and equally loves praise and positive reinforcement. And she loves it when you talk with her! Lacey is smart, curious, open to training, and after only a week, has made exceptional progress in walking on a leash. She loves playing catch and is full of life! Our experience with former breeder dogs is that they are so gentle and grateful and she is for sure. Lacey is an English Lab, so she is a bit more square and stocky than other Labs you might see. This pretty lady is looking forward to learning all about having a family of her own and exploring toys, soft beds, and more! If you need a lotta love in your life, come meet Lacey today!

Pete

Gender:

Male

Age:

10 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home (fence negotiable, no e-fence)

Plucky Pete!

THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.

Pete is such a trooper. This super chill, lovable guy has been settling well into his foster home this month, and is now looking for the loving forever home he deserves. He's an easy-going fella who loves human attention and loves to follow Foster Mom around. She says he’s so incredibly sweet and happy…such a champ. Since Pete has arthritis in his knees and some issues with his back, Foster Mom takes him on shorter walks or lets him stroll in the back yard, both activities that he greatly enjoys. On his walks, he is well behaved and does not pull. Foster Mom also takes him to swim therapy (see his video). He can tackle a few stairs but would do best in a home with few or no stairs to go in and out, and he his house-trained. Pete has not shown much interest in other dogs, but he absolutely loves people. Mostly, he finds fun in sniffing around the back yard and hanging out with his humans! Given his disposition and desire to be close, you won't find a better listener on the internet!
