Important Notes:

  • Finding Your Perfect Match: Below are brief descriptions of some of our dogs that are available for adoption. Because the list is constantly changing, we recommend that you apply to adopt as soon as you are ready and work with an Adoption Coordinator, who can provide you with more info about dogs that are a good match for you and your lifestyle.

  • Adopting with Children: The safety of children in an adoptive home is one of our greatest priorities. Learn more about our approach to placing dogs in homes where little ones are present.

  • Adopting as a Townhome or Apartment Resident: As many of our dogs come from rural areas—where they have limited exposure to cars, new people and dogs, unexpected noises, and being leashed—we may limit placements for some dogs to single-family homes. Learn more >

  • Adopting & Fences: We require fences for some of our dogs for a range of reasons. Learn more >

  • Heartworm: About ten percent of our dogs are diagnosed with Heartworm disease during their initial vetting. Heartworm is treatable, and Lab Rescue provides treatment for all infected dogs at no cost to the adopter. Learn more >

Bay

Gender:

Male

Age:

11 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home with a physical fence and no stairs

Gentle Soul

This handsome soul is Bay. He comes to us after being left alone at his owner's home when his owner was taken to the hospital and later passed. We're not sure of Bay's exact age, but he appears to be an elderly gentleman and is extremely loving and friendly. He had surgery to have a tumor removed; and although the results of the biopsy were not what we were hoping for, his fosters are happy to love on this sweet soul. Before his surgery, Bay found comfort in his foster sister. After the surgery, he feels better and loves to explore the house and the yard, sometimes happily trotting around the yard. He likes to hang out with the two resident dogs and his foster humans. Bottom line, Bay just wants a family to love him and keep him company. If you would like to provide this loving gentleman with a soft place to lay his head and shower him with the love and attention he deserves, please call your Adoption Coordinator today.

Easy going guy!

You can call this handsome guy Heath or Gus and he will he come to you. He is happy to meet you to get attention and if you happen to have any treats that's even better. We think he was an outside pup for a while as his fur shows sun exposure but that will resolve now that he is inside with a soft bed and healthy food. We will continue the job of spoiling him with TLC and getting him a good home. Heath/Gus would like a family that has a fenced yard will give him plenty of attention, love, and exercise. Lucy #4

Gender:

Female

Age:

12 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home

The Happy Trotter!

Lovely Lucy #4 was found as a stray and no one came looking for her. She's a quiet, well-behaved, senior lady who still has a lot of energy and can be silly and puppy-like. Her transporter called her "a happy trotter" and said she only needed a little help getting in the car and was able to jump out. Lucy will, however, need a one-level house with only a couple steps. Her hind legs aren’t great, but glucosamine is helping, and she hasn’t seen a couch she doesn’t love to cuddle and nap on! She is a sweetheart, loves being petted, and will swat her people’s arm if they stop scratching her head. This smart girl loves eating, knows which bowl is hers, sits by it a mealtime, and knows where the treats are kept. Lucy is a sweet, low maintenance girl who's hoping for a loving home where she can be near her people and have a soft spot to take her naps.
