Finding Your Perfect Match: Below are brief descriptions of some of our dogs that are available for adoption. Because the list is constantly changing, we recommend that you apply to adopt as soon as you are ready and work with an Adoption Coordinator, who can provide you with more info about dogs that are a good match for you and your lifestyle.
-
Adopting with Children: The safety of children in an adoptive home is one of our greatest priorities. Learn more about our approach to placing dogs in homes where little ones are present.
-
Adopting as a Townhome or Apartment Resident: As many of our dogs come from rural areas—where they have limited exposure to cars, new people and dogs, unexpected noises, and being leashed—we may limit placements for some dogs to single-family homes. Learn more >
-
Adopting & Fences: We require fences for some of our dogs for a range of reasons. Learn more >
-
Heartworm: About ten percent of our dogs are diagnosed with Heartworm disease during their initial vetting. Heartworm is treatable, and Lab Rescue provides treatment for all infected dogs at no cost to the adopter. Learn more >

Kids 10+, Dogs, Cats
Needs:
A loving forever home (leash walks are best as Finn is an escape artist)
Sweet Finn is looking for a soft place to land.
THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.
Finn is one of the sweetest boys around. He's tall, lanky, and laid back. Finn is very smart, inquisitive, and loves to be around people. He likes to wander and explore when he is left alone. He just loves all people; especially if they have a car. Finn can open fence gates, and many other types of doors and latches. Since Finn is so smart, he needs to be leashed walked and can't be left unattended where he can roam. Finn loves to cuddle up next to you in bed, loves attention, and never met a treat he didn't like.

Jake #2

9 years

Kids 10+, Dogs, Cats
Needs:
A loving forever home with a physical or underground fence
Easy going Jake!
THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.
Jake is one of the easiest going and friendliest pups I have met in a long time. He is 9 years old but acts like he is about 5 or 6. He only has 1 eye but that doesn't bother him at all. He like to be outside to retrieve and is a retrieving nut. He brings it back, if you don't toss it right away he picks it up and tosses to you. A "Chuck It" will save your arm. He takes treats very easily. Inside he's a laid back dog who likes to be with you to get attention and keep you company. He would like a family that has a fenced yard and will give him the love attention and care he deserves.

Merry Mischief!
THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125
Mischief is a happy dog who really knows how to enjoy life. She is a retired breeder, and when you meet her, you won’t believe she is 10 years old. Over the holidays she wanted to chase all the dancing lights on display in the neighborhood. Lately, she has been playing with a milk jug, chasing it just like a puppy. Mischief has an inoperable growth in her abdomen and is considered a hospice case, although she doesn’t seem to know this. She is still having fun chasing the squirrels, and she recently came soooo close to catching one. She easily fit into her foster home’s household routine and takes her role of personal assistant very seriously. She has a great lab lean, and will also lie at your feet as closely as possible, supervising when you put on shoes. Mischief absolutely loves human visitors and considers everyone she meets to be her immediate new, best friend. She rarely barks, unless foster mom is not getting dinner ready quickly enough. She loves food! Mischief walks very well on a leash, but doesn't require a lot of exercise. She does love to retrieve and is very good at it. She gets along well with other dogs, but can't understand the barking dogs on TV. Mischief continues to defy her name and is a sweet girl, enjoying life in a home. She's so ready for a special, forever family who can give her all the love and attention she craves.
