Beautiful Bella is the absolute best house guest. She is gentle with her foster’s resident senior dog and playful with the young one - for short periods, and then Bella tells her she's done and ready for nap time! Sometimes the young resident will curl up next to Bella for naps, and she appears to enjoy the company. She has good house manners and wants to please. It seems she believes she is not allowed on furniture, as Foster Mom will try to get her to come up on the lounger with her from time to time, and Bella will quickly get down. She sleeps on the floor - next to the dog bed, next to Foster Mom’s bed at night. Bella is so very sweet and lovable, and she can’t wait to find her new, forever family to share her love with.

Handsome Blue is as sweet as they come!! He's a big, good looking boy who was well taken care of by his previous owner, who sadly passed away. Maybe a bit too well taken care of when it came to treats. He was very overweight when he came to us, but is dong great on his weight-loss program. He would like his new family to ensure he stays on his regime of diet and gentle exercise until he reaches his healthy goal. He loves people, is eager to meet other dogs and lived with a cat. Blue is laid back, affectionate, and well behaved. He has great house manners and enjoys swimming and going for walks as he continues his weight loss journey. He would do best in a single-story home with as much carpet as possible, as he has some difficulty with slick wood floors. Blue is a very happy boy who loves attention from his people and is ready to love and be loved again.

Bobby is a stunning young yellow boy. He’s an extra-large boy with a gentle heart and a big brain to match. Although Bobby is strong, he’s also incredibly smart and eager to learn – especially when the reward is tasty treats and your praise. He walks nicely on leash with a no-pull harness. Bobby is fully crate-trained, house-trained, and enjoys quiet time in the backyard, lounging in the sun or sniffing around. He’s generally a calm and quiet companion, while also having a playful side - he's learned to relax and let his true self shine! One especially sweet note from his trial home: when Bobby had his people all to himself, he quickly shows just how much he loves close companionship and becomes a true “Velcro dog,” happily bonding and sticking close to his humans. Bobby is a loving, affectionate boy who will thrive in a calm, pet-free home with people who are comfortable with a large dog and appreciate a loyal companion who likes to stay close. He’s ready for the right match to come along and see just how special he is.

Buck (black) and Ruby (yellow) continue to do well in their foster home, winning hearts and minds while they wait for their forever home. They are adjusting well to suburban life and are eagerly awaiting their next stop. They love each other, and they're looking for a human to round out their pack! They're good house guests, pretty good on walks, good in their crates, food motivated, and very people friendly.

Buddy found himself with Lab Rescue when he became too much for his owners who had a lot going on including a baby on the way. He never had any formal training so he needs a little (not much) structure and some leash work. However, he is a sweet boy who is house- and crate-trained. He knows a few basic commands when not distracted and is good with dogs, big and small. Buddy is a BIG boy who needs to lose a few pounds but his has a gorgeous coat and teeth. His transporters said he is a love. He may bark at new people initially but a few treats offerred and he is your best buddy. He loves to retrieve anything especially balls and loves water!! Typical lab! He loves to ride in the car and look out the window. Buddy lived with kids and is approved for kids 8 and up. He is unknown with cats (but ignored them totally on a tour of the cat room at the vet). He was a little nervous at the vet but some cheese and treats made it all better. All in all a great guy!! 

Who is the best buddy? Buddy #4, that's who. Buddy was found by a Good Samaritan as a stray, and is now hoping to find a forever family! During his short stay with the Good Samaritan, he showed how well he walks on leash, and how playful he was with the teenagers in the home. He seems to know sit, paw, and wait, and didn't get into mischief in the house. Even though we don't have lots of background on Buddy, we do know he wants to be your best buddy. Good-looking Buddy is sure to shine in his new home with his new family.

Bunty is a friendly pup with all your typical Lab likes: he likes his people, he likes meeting other dogs, and he likes playtime. His favorite pastime is exploring, especially by the side of his favorite people. After an adventure in the yard (or a good walk, or a swim in the lake!), he will settle down to relax. This boy is polite: in the car, he simply sits back and enjoys the view. In his foster home, he has been getting along with the resident dog. And, he is a food-motivated learner who knows some basic commands already! Smart, affectionate, and bouncy, this boy is looking for a home that can give him the love, attention, and exercise he needs. He will make some lucky family a super companion! Casey and Nathan have been in foster for a bit now, and in some ways, not having a dramatic update is a good thing. They’ve settled into a routine, they know what to expect, and they’ve made a lot of quiet progress. When they first arrived, both boys were extremely wary. Moving them from one place to another often involved herding them because their instinct was simply to put as much distance as possible between themselves and a person. These days, they come in and out of the house on their own, happily follow the household routine, and will take treats directly from their foster mother’s hand. What they do love is having a big, securely fenced yard where they can run, wrestle, explore, and just be dogs. They are active and playful and very bonded to one another. Inside, they’re still perfectly capable of getting into puppy mischief, so they are crate trained and crated when they can’t be supervised. Fortunately, both are very comfortable and content in their crates. They also get along well with other dogs. Their ideal home is one that appreciates them for who they are: sweet, playful companions who may never be the dogs who want to accompany you to a brewery, greet every visitor, or spend the evening trying to crawl into your lap. They’d much rather have their familiar people, their predictable routine, each other, and a great yard to play in. They’ve come a very long way. Their world has gotten much bigger—and they’re ready for someone who can give them a safe, comfortable little corner of it to call their own.

Cash and Kirby are an easy pair who just want to share affection, warmth, and cuddles. They have very few demands. These boys are a true bonded pair of besties. Cash loves butt scratches and sturdy toys. Kirby loves to nap in hilarious positions and prefers to be close to his humans at all times. The boys enjoy car rides and are very well behaved in the house, but keep an eye on your counters and trash cans. Snuggling with Foster Mom was enough to keep them calm and comfortable during 4th of July fireworks. The pups are polite and friendly greeting all visitors with wagging tails. Cash and Kirby will thrive with a family who is around more often than not, and a big backyard would be a bonus. A strong handler is a must as these two big boys get uber excited when the leashes come out. Anyone looking to add fun and affection to their family will be very lucky to have them. 

Beautiful Dame Judy may not actually be an Academy Award-winning actress, and Handsome Okie might not be an Okie from Muskogee, but what they have in common is that they have both faced life “Against All Odds.” They arrived at a shelter separately, each with their own burdens -- one a frightened stray who refused to walk, and the other battling a painful scab-covered skin issue. It was kismet. They met, they found comfort with one another, they bonded and are now inseparable. Their tale could make an Academy Award winning story, but it needs a happy ending. This sweet, lovable, bonded pair is sure to be Academy Award winners with their new family!

Duke has never met a stranger.  His foster family says he loves every person and dog he’s met and is happiest when he’s right in the middle of family life. They think he may actually be part human, because he strongly prefers the couch, the big bed, and wherever his people happen to be, over any of the traditional “dog alternatives.” Duke is an affectionate, people-oriented guy who will happily velcro himself to you or rest his big head in your lap during a movie. He also LOVES car rides — open a car door and Duke is ready for the next adventure. Duke came to Lab Rescue with some nice manners already in place. He is fully house-trained, has not been destructive or chewed things in the house, and sits beautifully for his meals without even being asked.  Duke is working on his leash skills and does better with an easy walk harness.  If you're looking for a dog who enjoys regular exercise and freely gives affection, Duke is your guy!

Duke and Bella are a bonded pair that have lived together since Bella was 2. For the past 6 years they have been best buds. Though Bella tends to be the more independent one - Duke tends to stick close to her. Duke takes on the role of "older brother" and may tattle on Bella from time to time. Helpful for the humans! Both are house- and crate-trained, but no longer use the crate. They know sit, stay, place, kennel, down, and out. These two sweethearts are excited for their next chapter in a forever home, where they can receive the love and attention they deserve.

Both Ellie and Maggie are doing great! They are ideal guests and completely house-trained. They let their people know when they want to go out or when it is time for dinner or an evening snack by pacing back and forth to the door or kitchen. If their people do not respond, one of them will give a single, sharp woof, which usually does the trick. Both are excellent eaters and enjoy kibble with a spoonful of canned food or tuna. Maggie and Ellie are incredibly active, alert, and love their walks. They are always ready to go, and a mile walk during the cooler hours is easy for them. Maggie is definitely the leader in the house and will push Ellie out of the way to be first for walks or meals, which Ellie does not seem to mind. Once they finish eating, they always inspect each other's bowls to make sure nothing was left behind. They trade the lead on our walks. Maggie walks at a steady, medium pace with minimal dawdling, while Ellie loves to sniff and walks a bit faster until she gets distracted by a scent. They greet visitors calmly with friendly wags and sniffs, without jumping. Outside, they are happy to meet new people and dogs. Maggie is still terrified of thunder and senses it long before her people can hear it. Yesterday during a storm, she demonstrated that she can do stairs; she ran upstairs for the first time with no problem coming down, and later did it again for another thunder roll. They have distinct personalities and are still sassy and do the "zoomies" from the front room to the TV room once or twice a week. They might not win any agility shows, but they are doing wonderfully for being 13 years old. 

Don't worry, you don't need to pull a sword from a stone to be worthy of this Excalibur! He'll settle for a loving forever home. Excalibur is a sweet boy who gets excited to play with dogs and does very well with them. He is keeping his run clean and being a very good boy! He has a gentle mouth and the softest coat.
