Finding Your Perfect Match: Below are brief descriptions of some of our dogs that are available for adoption. Because the list is constantly changing, we recommend that you apply to adopt as soon as you are ready and work with an Adoption Coordinator, who can provide you with more info about dogs that are a good match for you and your lifestyle.
-
Adopting with Children: The safety of children in an adoptive home is one of our greatest priorities. Learn more about our approach to placing dogs in homes where little ones are present.
-
Adopting as a Townhome or Apartment Resident: As many of our dogs come from rural areas—where they have limited exposure to cars, new people and dogs, unexpected noises, and being leashed—we may limit placements for some dogs to single-family homes. Learn more >
-
Adopting & Fences: We require fences for some of our dogs for a range of reasons. Learn more >

Heartworm: About ten percent of our dogs are diagnosed with Heartworm disease during their initial vetting. Heartworm is treatable, and Lab Rescue provides treatment for all infected dogs at no cost to the adopter. Learn more >

Beau #2
Gender:
Male
Age:
11 months
Good with:
Kids 10+, Dogs
Needs:
A loving forever home with a physical fence
We're all about Beau!
Beau is a goofy, gorgeous, lovable young Lab with young lab energy to burn. He's crate trained and house trained. Beau loves people, loves his toys (and balls), and loves zoomies! He's ready for a family that shows up and spends the time with him that he deserves. As a younger pup, he is certainly full of energy, and also all the love you could ever want! Beau will be a beau-tiful addition to a household with a Lab-sized space in their heart.

Bettie
Gender:
Female
Age:
2 years
Good with:
Kids 10+, Dogs
Needs:
A loving forever home, fence negotiable
Smiling Bettie!
Bettie is a super sweet girl who loves to ride. She is good on leash and is very playful and fun! This pretty girl is keeping her run clean at the vet and all the workers love her. Bettie and Brodie were owner surrenders from the same home. We were told they were not bonded but they do love to play together. They are also doing fine separated at the vet and the kennel. So they can go together or each to a separate home. It would be great to keep them together but they will be fine apart as well. More on Bettie as we get her into a foster home.

Bobby
Gender:
Male
Age:
6 years
Good with:
Kids 10+, Dogs, No Cats
Needs:
A loving forever home. Fence negotiable.
Big Beautiful Boy!
Bobby is a stunning young yellow boy. He’s an extra-large boy with a gentle heart and a big brain to match. Although Bobby is strong, he’s also incredibly smart and eager to learn – especially when the reward is tasty treats and your praise. He walks nicely on leash with a no-pull harness. Bobby is fully crate-trained, house-trained, and enjoys quiet time in the backyard, lounging in the sun or sniffing around. He’s generally a calm and quiet companion, while also having a playful side - he's learned to relax and let his true self shine! One especially sweet note from his trial home: when Bobby had his people all to himself, he quickly shows just how much he loves close companionship and becomes a true “Velcro dog,” happily bonding and sticking close to his humans. Bobby is a loving, affectionate boy who will thrive in a calm, pet-free home with people who are comfortable with a large dog and appreciate a loyal companion who likes to stay close. He’s ready for the right match to come along and see just how special he is.

Needs:
A loving forever home with a physical or underground fence
Two great characters!
Yogi and Bocephus (Bo) are great pups and are full of joy. They are bonded brothers, as sweet as can be, and well behaved. Bo is the leader of the two; he is playful. Yogi is a very friendly and loving pup who likes playtime, hanging outside, and most of all being with you. Both like to play with toys and will retrieve balls all day! Both are great in the house and both love to swim. They would like a family that has a yard so they can play and get exercise. They promise you double the love and double the fun.

Brodie #2
Gender:
Male
Age:

Handsome pup!
Brodie is a super sweet boy who loves to ride. He is good on leash and is very playful and fun! This handsome guy is keeping his run clean at the vet and all the workers love him. Brodie and Bettie were owner surrenders from the same home. We were told they were not bonded but they do love to play together. They are also doing fine separated at the vet and the kennel. So they can go together or each to a separate home. It would be great to keep them together but they will be fine apart as well. More on Brodie as we get him into a foster home.

Casey and Nathan
Gender:
Male/Male bonded pair
Age:
1 year 2 months
Good with:
Kids 10+, Dogs
Needs:
A loving forever home with a 6 ft fence
Bonded Bros
Casey and Nathan are bonded brothers who must be adopted together. Casey is moderately more social than Nathan and has more natural curiosity and willingness to interact. Their progress continues to be steady but gradual, which is very typical for dogs who come in fearful and under-socialized. While they are still quite hesitant about direct human interaction, they have made some meaningful gains in trust. Both dogs will now approach for food and will take treats. Though not yet comfortable with petting or handling, when outside they often choose to stay nearby, hovering at a distance, which shows their curiosity and desire to be near people, even while they’re still working through some fear. They are making some progress walking on leash, but at this stage they would not thrive in a home that relies heavily on leash walking for exercise. They are much more comfortable in secure, familiar environments. Day-to-day management with them has become easy, and both boys really enjoy enrichment activities. They are very funny and endearing together, still very much in that silly adolescent stage. They play well, get into harmless mischief together, and clearly take comfort in one another’s company. Though good with other dogs, they remain strongly bonded and rarely choose to be far apart. With patience and love, these brothers have made a lot of progress since coming to Lab Rescue, and their future looks so bright, they’re going to need shades!

Casper
Gender:
Male
Age:
3 years
Good with:
Kids 10+, Dogs, Cats
Needs:
A loving forever home with a physical fence
The friendly type
Casper is a sweet, sometimes silly, very good boy. When he came to Lab Rescue he was missing most of his fur due to severe allergies. After treating him, he regained his beautiful fur, and his true identity became clear: he's a Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix! Now that he’s healthy and fluffy again, we know that Casper is very much a working dog who loves being outside and thriving when he has a job that suits his instincts and personality, like livestock guarding. True to his nature, Casper believes in keeping an eye on things. He’s not excessively noisy, but he does patrol the fence line and will alert bark at passing threats like squirrels, plastic bags, or neighbors living their lives. He’ll quiet when asked and is happy to come inside when his job is done. A large securely fenced yard is non-negotiable; he’s got strong instincts to roam and protect, and he needs space to do both safely. He’s crate trained & house trained. Casper is calm, stoic, and devoted; extremely gentle with people. He's independent, though affectionate with his family. He walks nicely on leash, enjoys park outings, and gets along with other dogs, but is mostly indifferent to them. If he could choose, he'd prefer a large, calm female dog companion, but he'd be happy as an only dog too. He'll do best with a family who has working dog experience who understands the nature of the breeds. Casper will do best in a rural area, ideally on a farm, or similar place he can be put to work. He has lived with cats, and will play with them if they agree.

Chase
Gender:
Male
Age:
6 years
Good with:
Kids 10+, Dogs
Needs:
A loving forever home
Charming Chase!
Chase is a very handsome fellow, who lived on a farm and was used for breeding. Lucky for Chase, his breeder gave him up after deciding he preferred to breed chocolates. Go figure. Even though his name is Chase, he was not given the opportunity to chase anything because he was kept on a chain in a barn. Despite his confinement and lack of attention, he is the sweetest playful, happy pup. He is a big boy who will need to lose just a bit of weight, getting exercise with his people, chasing butterflies, balls, and frisbees. Chase is so looking forward to his new life and is eagerly waiting to discover what it's like to have a home and be a loving member of a family. He will be an amazing companion!

Chip
Gender:
Male
Age:
2 years
Good with:
Kids 10+, Dogs
Needs:
A loving forever home, fence negotiable
Stunning boy!
Chip is a very energetic boy who loves to play. He is very friendly, loves erveryone, and assumes (like so many Labs) that everyone loves him too! He does well on leash and is a good passenger. He is playful and loves to run around the play yard and toss his toys. This handsome guy is looking for his forever family to bring him home for summer fun.

Sweet Emma is looking for love! This darling senior gal went unclaimed as a stray and has now joined us in search of the perfect home. Emma is ready to relax and snuggle her new family. She enjoys walks, snacks, and naps, in no particular order! Emma would love a family that is particularly practiced in ear and butt scratches. She would also appreciate one that is willing to throw down rugs on any slick floors to give her old bones an easier time walking around. Otherwise, Emma is ready to take on the ruff task of full time love for her new family. If you'd like to make this beautiful senior girl's years golden, come meet her today!
Emma still has some pep in her step: https://youtube.com/shorts/onBklvgzEUg?feature=shared

Grandad

Male
Age:
10 years
Good with:
Kids 10+, Dogs, No Cats
Needs:
A loving forever home
Gentle senior
THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.
Grandad is doing well in his foster home. He is house trained and his foster mom has never tried to put him in a crate because it is unnecessary. Grandad goes to the door when he needs to go out and enjoys being outside. He does not need a fenced yard but he does like to meander. Grandad sleeps through the night - upstairs - by his choice. The stairs are challenging for him but he can do them. Grandad’s walks are very short and slow, about 5 minutes; he loves to go and wait at the door as leashes are attached. He is a very patient guy. Grandad interacts with the quieter resident dogs and stays out of the way of the most active. He doesn’t need to live with another dog but would like a human companion around most of the time. He spends much of his day on the couch and generally very gingerly climbs onto it. His greatest bursts of energy occur occasionally when he vaults onto the couch. Grandad is a lovely and undemanding companion.

Gunther/Sallie Mae
Gender:
Male/Female bonded pair
Age:
both 5 years
Good with:
Kids 10+, Dogs
Needs:
A loving forever home with a physical fence
Gorgeous Gunther and Sweet Sallie Mae!
Gorgeous Gunther and sweet Sallie Mae are a charming duo. They are having a great time in daycare at boarding. Gunther loves running, playing, and splashing around in playgroups. He is quite attached to Sallie Mae and feels the best when they're together. And of course, Sallie Mae loves him too! She is the sweetest girl. Sallie Mae loves human attention, too. They both do well on leash walks and appear house trained. Now, they just need a forever home to open their hearts to them - these two have a lot of lovin' to give in return!

Happy
Gender:
Male
Age:
2 years
Good with:
Kids 10+, Dogs
Needs:
A loving forever home, fence negotiable
Happy is right!
Happy got his name based on his personality. This sweet boy is happy all the time. He loves people and enjoys playing in the yard at the kennel. He took right to the baby pool he had access to end enjoyed splashing around in it. He has typical 2-year-old Lab silly energy. While in boarding he would wait to do his business outside and would bark to let them know he needed to go. That's the only time he would bark while in boarding - other than when he saw the horses - aka giant dogs! He never barked when all the other dogs were barking. He didn't mind going into his kennel and settling down, so crate training should be fairly easy for him. This guy will be happy to head home for good!

Hazel #3
Gender:
Female
Age:
2 years
Good with:
Kids 10+, Dogs, No Cats
Needs:
A loving forever home, fence negotiable
Happy Hazel!
Hazel is an awesome foster!! She is a friendly and active pup who gets along great with the resident lab. She is house and crate trained and spends her days uncrated laying on one of the various dog beds around the house near her people. Hazel loves to run and play in the backyard, especially with the resident dog. As a younger pup, her listening skills are impressive - she heeds corrections from the older resident dog when play is too much, and is calm and placid meeting other dogs. So much so that her people will introduce her first to new dogs! Everyone comments on what a beautiful and nice girl she is. Hazel sleeps through the night, knows her basic commands, and walks well on leash. She rides well in the car, just settles down and takes a nap, sometimes in the passenger seat and sometimes on the center console. "Do you have any treats for the road?" she asks. After a long morning walk, Hazel sacks out on the dog bed for 3-4 hours. She's a very good co-worker! Hazel is looking for a family that will give her the love, exercise, and training she needs to thrive. She will make your family a wonderful companion.
