Finding Your Perfect Match: Below are brief descriptions of some of our dogs that are available for adoption. Because the list is constantly changing, we recommend that you apply to adopt as soon as you are ready and work with an Adoption Coordinator, who can provide you with more info about dogs that are a good match for you and your lifestyle.

Adopting with Children: The safety of children in an adoptive home is one of our greatest priorities. Learn more about our approach to placing dogs in homes where little ones are present.
-
Adopting as a Townhome or Apartment Resident: As many of our dogs come from rural areas—where they have limited exposure to cars, new people and dogs, unexpected noises, and being leashed—we may limit placements for some dogs to single-family homes. Learn more >

Adopting & Fences: We require fences for some of our dogs for a range of reasons. Learn more >

Heartworm: About ten percent of our dogs are diagnosed with Heartworm disease during their initial vetting. Heartworm is treatable, and Lab Rescue provides treatment for all infected dogs at no cost to the adopter. Learn more >

Tripp
Gender:
Male
Age:
8 years
Good with:
Kids 18+, Dogs, Cats
Needs:
A loving forever adult home with a physical fence
Low-key guy with a great grin!
Tripp is a sweet homebody who loves having his people close by. If his fosters are in separate rooms, he will take turns visiting them, asking for a bit of affection before he heads off to check on his other human. Tripp will never be a hugger, but he seeks and receives affection in other ways. He especially likes butt scratches, but he has also started giving kisses to his fosters and he permits ear rubs from foster mom. He is communicating more and more using nose nudges, head bumps or a gentle paw to ask for affection. Tripp loves his walks, snacks, naps, squeaky toys, mealtimes, and couch surfing. He puts himself to bed at night in his crate and often naps there during the day for a little alone time. He is exceptionally gentle taking treats and when he receives praise from his foster for such good behavior, he follows up by offering his paw. He is wonderfully responsive to positive feedback. On walks, he pays close attention to guidance from his human. He knows to "stay" at crosswalks, "stop" for traffic, and proceed with the cue "let's go." He loves his walks and wags his tail in greeting whenever he sees another dog. Tripp has shown his fosters what an affectionate and loving companion he can be. He's just waiting for a forever family who can give him the quiet home he needs, and is ok with the time he needs to settle into a new place.

Weiko
Gender:
Male
Age:
8 years
Good with:
Kids 10+, Dogs
Needs:
A loving forever home with a physical fence
Wonderful Weiko
Weiko is a super sweet boy who loves to turn on the charm. Once he has you captivated he will quicky show you his belly and ask for pets. This sweet guy is already totally housebroken and does not require a crate. He is an ideal houseguest who does not engage in counter surfing, stays off the furniture, and barks appropriately. Weiko already knows some basic commands as well as his name. Weiko did well on the car, and is improving on a leash. Weiko can be a bit shy at first and is looking for some confidence. If somebody has a dog with enough swagger for 2, Weiko would love to feed off that energy. His past may not have been ideal, but his future is very bright. He's just waiting for the right person to deliver that future!

A loving forever home with a physical fence
You will love Willow!
Willow is a young, energetic dog who loves playtime and soaking up any and all attention she can get! She has a nice lab-lean, then goes into a slide and ends up on her back so that she can get her belly rubbed. In the yard, she will run and play with other dogs, getting her zoomies out. She is starting to learn fetch and will even retrieve sometimes! A proper lady, Willow will sit for treats and takes them nicely. With a bit of direction and continued training, she's going to make an amazing family member.
