AVAILABLE LABS

Important Notes:

  • Finding Your Perfect Match: Below are brief descriptions of some of our dogs that are available for adoption. Because the list is constantly changing, we recommend that you apply to adopt as soon as you are ready and work with an Adoption Coordinator, who can provide you with more info about dogs that are a good match for you and your lifestyle.

  • Adopting with Children: The safety of children in an adoptive home is one of our greatest priorities. Learn more about our approach to placing dogs in homes where little ones are present.

  • Adopting as a Townhome or Apartment Resident: As many of our dogs come from rural areas—where they have limited exposure to cars, new people and dogs, unexpected noises, and being leashed—we may limit placements for some dogs to single-family homes. Learn more >

  • Adopting & Fences: We require fences for some of our dogs for a range of reasons. Learn more >

  • Heartworm: About ten percent of our dogs are diagnosed with Heartworm disease during their initial vetting. Heartworm is treatable, and Lab Rescue provides treatment for all infected dogs at no cost to the adopter. Learn more >

Nova #2

Gender:

Female

Age:

12 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving home with few stairs

Beautiful Stellar Girl!

THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.

Nova #2 is an absolute sweetheart! She is very low maintenance and really enjoys a soft spot. She has a couple dog beds she has an affinity for. She sleeps a lot of the day and then peacefully through the night on her dog bed in the bedroom. She really enjoys wandering in the yard and loves that the front yard of her foster home is fenced so she can wander and lounge and check out all the new smells, returning when she is satisfied all is well. Nova is good with other dogs but can get knocked over by the younger ones, so she will do best in a home without rambunctious pups. This lovely lady also needs a home with very few stairs, as she has age-related arthritis. She looks for a reward after being a really good girl (which is very often) and takes her treats very gently. Nova is just a sweet, easy-going, older girl looking for love and a soft spot to lay her head.

Oakley #2

Gender:

Female

Age:

1 year

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home with a physical or underground fence

Sweet shy girl

Oakley had kind of a rough start in life after being abandoned by her previous owners.  But now she has come to Lab Rescue and is ready for a brand new start.  She was very unsure about toys at first, but has gradually started to play with them.  Oakley will approach humans for attention and treats, which she takes gently.  She also enjoys care rides and prefers to sit up front.  Oakley is working on her leash manners, but does pretty well with an easy walk harness.  She would love to have a family that has a fenced yard she can play in and that will give her all the love and attention she so richly deserves.

Odie

Gender:

Male

Age:

2 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home with a physical fence

Handsome guy!

Handsome Odie is ready to find his forever home and start living his best life. Foster Mom reports that he is just a silly, VERY HAPPY, goofy, typical, fun-loving Lab. He is obsessed with balls, so a chuck-it stick will be one of the best things to have on hand for him. He loves to chomp on ice and is very food motivated. He slept in his create with the door open with no issues and woke up happy and ready for the day. He is loving his walks and ready to run and play and be the young labs he's meant to be. He is house and crate trained and walks fairly well on leash and would love a fenced yard of his own. Everyone that has met him has said what a wonderful, sweet, gentle boy he is. Come meet him today!

Poseidon

Gender:

Male

Age:

1 year 6 months

Good with:

Kids

Needs:

A loving forever home

He'll capture your heart!

Ruler of the seas? More like ruler of your heart! Cutie-patootie Poseidon is looking for new shores to crash on. He is still young and full of puppy energy and antics, so his new family will need to be ready to provide plenty of exercise and supervision. Poseidon is quite smart and eager to please, so he will be loads of fun to train with! His new family will have the honors of introducing all the best things in life to this young guy - fetching, swimming, hiking, and of course cuddling on the couch. You name it, he's ready to give it a go! Poseidon is very much looking forward to adventures and cuddles with his new family. He’s a super pup. Won’t you come meet him today!

Sasha

Gender:

Female

Age:

5 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home with a physical fence

Lovely Sasha

Sweet, lovable Sasha is an absolute sweetheart who really wants to be loved but is a little shy when it comes to asking. She thoroughly enjoys other dogs and would likely do best in a home with another confident pup. She's having the best time in play group. She lets everyone know she’s ready to play by giving her best play bow to any dog who walks past her. It seems as if she didn’t have much fun time in her previous life, so Lab Rescue is really looking forward to giving her a life where she can play and just be a dog. When she's happy she will prance around with a smile on her face. We want to see that smile become a permanent fixture on her beautiful face in her forever home. Might you help with that?

Sirius

Gender:

Male

Age:

1 year

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home with a physical fence

Fun not serious!

Sirius is a gorgeous, silly, and sweet goofball if there ever was one. He is a typical young lab full of fun, love and curiosity. He was great entertainment at the shelter and appropriately (and affectionately) nicknamed 'the derp'. He walks better on an EZ walk harness, which is a great tool for learning leash walking skills. Sirius is a smart cookie and will take well to training. He does have a metal rod in his left rear leg, and though it does not seem to both him, over-exercising and excessive jumping should be avoided. He rides great in the car and is more then happy to be your cruising buddy. More on this handsome guy once he's in a foster home - if you're interested in meeting him, don't wait to reach out to your Adoption Coordinator!

Smokey

Gender:

Male

Age:

2 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home, fence negotiable

Only YOU can be lucky enough to adopt Smokey!

The only fire around here is the fire in our hearts for this sweet boy Smokey! Smokey was a stray to a rural shelter and was taken in by a partner rescue who asked for our help. He is a super sweet boy who loves to play and is very energetic. At the vet, he enjoys playing in the yard and with toys. He also does great with other dogs and is keeping his run clean. In foster, he has shown that he is entirely house- and crate-trained, and that he LOVES dogs, from Yorkies to Great Danes. For an energetic doggo, Smokey really understands boundaries - he settles quickly and does not bother anything that is not his! All in all just a sweet, fabulous little guy who is ready for a family of his own! Don't wait, only YOU can reach out to your Adoption Coordinator today!

Sookie

Gender:

Female

Age:

2 years

Good with:

Kids 8+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home

Especially sweet!

Meet Sookie – the sweetest little fighter you’ll ever meet! ❤️ Sookie lost the ability to use her back legs at a young age, but that doesn't bother her. She is happy as can be, a whiz on her wheels, and can stand up for short periods of time with assistance and has started walking slowly on her own. Caring for Sookie is easier than you might think. All she needs a quick diaper change routine, some exercises to strengthen her back legs, and lots of love! We’ve discovered she has an absolute obsession with tennis balls. She’ll happily chase them in her cart or “retrieve” them during floor time – her joy is contagious! She loves to play and snuggle with her foster’s three resident dogs, sleeps next to Foster Mom while she's at her desk, and her adorable little head tilt will melt your heart. Her back legs continue to get strong. Many times she will eat her meal standing up while using an elevated bowl. She is an incredibly sweet girl with a big personality. Sookie is on a routine and communicates clearly when she needs to go out—every day her foster family gets better at understanding the “Sookie language.” She has gained weight, continues to grow stronger, and shows so much resilience. Sookie is wonderful with dogs of all sizes and truly enjoys their company. She sleeps through the night and spends her days relaxing with the resident dogs and humans. Her gentle nature and gratitude shine through in everything she does.

If you can find enough love in your heart to care for a disabled dog who will give you only gratitude in return, consider Sookie. She will show you that love truly conquers all. 🐾💛

Spooky/Max

Gender:

Male

Age:

8 months

Good with:

Kids 8+, Dogs, Cats

Needs:

A loving forever home

Beautiful boy!

Spooky/Max is settling in with his new foster family and proving to be a sweet, smart, and gentle boy. He's been getting along well with the resident Lab and is very interested in toys but has to wait a bit longer to play as he's still recovering from his neuter surgery. Spooky (who really responds better to Max!) is house trained, takes treats gently, and knows a few commands like sit and come. He's doing great on leash walks and generally walks right beside his foster mom. His foster mom describes him as a pretty chill guy who loves attention. This boy will be a fun-loving addition to an active family that will give him plenty of playtime, walks and attention.

Thunder

Gender:

Male

Age:

1 year

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home with a physical fence

Big and Beautiful!

Thunder is a sweet boy looking for an active family with whom to continue exploring the world. He has been demonstrating his excitement with zoomies at his foster home. He’s a sweet boy, with lots of energy and young-dog joy who hasn’t yet had much in the way of training. But he's working on that. This fun guy takes treats gently and is eager to please. Foster Mom is working with him on things like keeping all 4 paws on the floor and knowing what things are appropriate to put in his mouth. He likes the beach and car rides and loves being with people. Thunder would love an agility class or basic obedience with his person. He's looking for an active adopter, committed to working on his training so that he can shine! He’s so excited about his future with his loving family!

Twilight

Gender:

Female

Age:

3 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs, No Cats

Needs:

A loving female-only forever home with a physical fence and another dog

Brave pup expanding her horizons

Twilight is a shy and silly ex-farm mama working on her transition to home and family life. Although she was briefly a breeder girl, she is best understood as an energetic young lab who needs some human socialization. She is loving and trusting with foster mom and she has begun to meet strangers outdoors on her own terms. Outdoors is Twilight's happy place, so her people will be outdoor lovers, too. She is brave on walks, walking 3-4 miles per day. She especially loves outings on a long line where she can sniff and jump in the creek. Walks alone will not be enough for her, she also requires 3-4 fetch sessions per day. She loves water, the kiddie pool and playing in the hose. She gets along great with every dog she meets but doesn’t play a lot yet, relying on her humans instead to drain her energy through walks and interactive play. Indoors, she still retreats to the crate and one or two other safe places. As she continues to build trust, Twilight is relatively easy to care for with an established routine. Her ideal humans will help her feel safe while building small challenges into her routine to widen her world. She is a funny and very endearing little lab. She likes to run reconnaissance missions from her crate to grab toys from the basket nearby. By the end of the day, she has accumulated a pile of collectibles in her crate, including the resident dog’s bed! These tantalizing glimpses of her personality make her so very worth the effort. We believe she will widen your world just as you widen hers.

Friendly fellow!

Westley is an adorable Lab mix who is on the smaller size at 46 pounds if you are looking for a "Lap Lab"! He is sweet and friendly and loves to meet other dogs and humans alike. After a good romp he will settle nicely and is eager to learn and please. He walks well on a leash and is keeping his kennel clean so we expect great things from him when he finds his forever home. More on Westley as we get to know him.

Zeni

Gender:

Male

Age:

6 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home with a physical or undergrund fence

Happy dude!

Zeni is a very sweet, happy boy who thinks the best thing that has happened to him lately is coming to Lab Rescue after his owner could no longer care for him. He likes to be with you getting attention and thinks his head should be in your lap getting petted. He likes to retrieve and is very good at it, bringing the toy or ball back so you can toss it again and again. Zeni is an easy dog who will love hanging around with his new family, going on walks, playing in the yard, or exploring the world. He knows his commands and takes treats gently. Zeni is a favorite at the kennel with both the staff and other dogs. He rode nicely on his trip to the vet and was great introducing himself calmly to other dogs when they came over to meet him. Zeni is a great pup, waiting patiently for some very lucky family to come meet him.
