Important Notes:

  • Finding Your Perfect Match: Below are brief descriptions of some of our dogs that are available for adoption. Because the list is constantly changing, we recommend that you apply to adopt as soon as you are ready and work with an Adoption Coordinator, who can provide you with more info about dogs that are a good match for you and your lifestyle.

  • Adopting with Children: The safety of children in an adoptive home is one of our greatest priorities. Learn more about our approach to placing dogs in homes where little ones are present.

  • Adopting as a Townhome or Apartment Resident: As many of our dogs come from rural areas—where they have limited exposure to cars, new people and dogs, unexpected noises, and being leashed—we may limit placements for some dogs to single-family homes. Learn more >

  • Adopting & Fences: We require fences for some of our dogs for a range of reasons. Learn more >

  • Heartworm: About ten percent of our dogs are diagnosed with Heartworm disease during their initial vetting. Heartworm is treatable, and Lab Rescue provides treatment for all infected dogs at no cost to the adopter. Learn more >

Lucky #2

Gender:

Male

Age:

1 year

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home, fence negotiable

Make it your lucky day!

Handsome, happy Lucky is lovable and sweet. He's a Lab mix who looks like he stepped in a bucket of white paint and decided to keep the look! He is confused right now about how he ended up at the shelter and doesn't realize his owner has passed away and won't be coming for him. So far he's been easy-going for everyone that's met him. Calm as can be. He walks well on leash and did very well meeting another pup at the shelter. He's ready for a forever home so he can continue to share his affection and be part of a family again.

These two currently reside with a foster who runs a doggy daycare, and they absolutely love the other dogs. They greet the humans at the gate, but their true desire is playing with their four-legged friends when they get a chance. Their foster says they settle down well and have a nice demeanor. Markie (nicknamed CiCi) and LJ (nicknamed Bubba) aren't super in your space snugglers, but they will sleep close to you. Their gorgeous eyes that used to be full of fear are now full of curiosity and understanding. Their next owner will spend years lost in those eyes!I Wouldn't you like to share your love and your home with this delightful duo? The reward of trust will melt your heart!  🖤

Molly #7

Gender:

Female

Age:

1 year 6 months

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home. no fence required, no e-fence

Affectionate former mama!

Molly is sweet, cuddly, and easy to have around. She plays well with her foster’s resident dog but is more interested in her humans. She loves to snuggle on the sofa with her people. Molly is a quick learner, takes treats ever-so-gently, and happily exchanges toys for a treat or another toy. She enjoyed inside playtime and puzzle toys during the recent rainy days but was thrilled to get out for a nice walk and outdoor playtime once again. She does great on leash and enjoys car rides, hopping right in the car and watching out the window during errands. Molly needs adopters willing to set boundaries - once she knows her people are in charge, she relaxes and goes with the household flow. She is a loving pup that deserves her own people to love forever.

Nova #2

Gender:

Female

Age:

12 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving home with few stairs

Beautiful Stellar Girl!

THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.

Nova #2 is an absolute sweetheart! She is very low maintenance and really enjoys a soft spot. She has a couple dog beds she has an affinity for. She sleeps a lot of the day and then peacefully through the night on her dog bed in the bedroom. She really enjoys wandering in the yard and loves that the front yard of her foster home is fenced so she can wander and lounge and check out all the new smells, returning when she is satisfied all is well. Nova is good with other dogs but can get knocked over by the younger ones, so she will do best in a home without rambunctious pups. This lovely lady also needs a home with very few stairs, as she has age-related arthritis. She looks for a reward after being a really good girl (which is very often) and takes her treats very gently. Nova is just a sweet, easy-going, older girl looking for love and a soft spot to lay her head.

A bright little star!

Orion is a sweet and silly boy who loves people and toys and is chock full of puppy energy and fun. He was so happy when his transporter showed up with toys in her vehicle, and he immediately picked his favorite. He would try to show it to her from time to time during the ride but was happiest just settling in back with it. For now Orion headed to daycare and boarding so he can participate in play groups. More on this adorable little guy when he gets to a foster!

A loving forever home with a physical fence and only dog in the home

Rudolph the Chocolate Lab!

THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.

Rudolph is a super sweet senior. Happy is an understatement for this guy! He is very enthusiastic about his training work and is doing very well. Among other things, he’s working on "sit" and "wait" for his food, which he LOVES! Overall Rudolph is a very food-motivated, willing dog who picks up on new skills quickly! His fosters report that he is a beautiful, easy-going, big boy with a sweet smile and constantly wagging tail. He did extremely well on the car ride to the house and has displayed very nice house manners. He will do best in a quiet home. He is good with cats and not reactive toward dogs on leash or behind a fence but would prefer to be an only dog, so he can be the center of your attention, of course. Rudolph is always checking to make sure he knows where his fosters are, so he can settle down next to them and enjoy a snooze. He LOVES his stuffed toys and parades them around the house. Could you be this sweet, lovable guy’s new family?

Silly Sammie!

Cutie patootie Sammie is a playful, fun puppy! He's very sweet and outgoing. This happy young boy loves people, does pretty well on leash, and is a good passenger on car trips. Loved by the kennel staff, he's reported to be a sweet, friendly guy and is keeping his run clean. Sammie can't wait to meet his forever family. More on Sammie as we find him a foster!

Shiloh

Gender:

Male

Age:

7 months

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home. Fence negotiable.

Super Shiloh!

Cutie-pie Shiloh is a sweet, slightly shy pup who turns into a cuddle-bug 2 minutes after meeting you. He's a happpy boy who loves to give kisses. His favorite treat is cheese, and he loves being told he's a good boy! According to his transporter, Shiloh is much smarter than he lets on. He’s friendly, playful, and loves other dogs. Shiloh walks fairly well on leash, but will need some practice on that. He loves to play with other dogs and was great with a dog smaller than him at the shelter. More on this smart, handsome boy once he moves to a foster home. He’s a super pup!

Sirius

Gender:

Male

Age:

1 year

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home with a physical fence

Fun not serious!

Sirius is a gorgeous, silly, and sweet goofball if there ever was one. He is a typical young lab full of fun, love and curiosity. He was great entertainment at the shelter and appropriately (and affectionately) nicknamed 'the derp'. He walks better on an EZ walk harness, which is a great tool for learning leash walking skills. Sirius is a smart cookie and will take well to training. He does have a metal rod in his left rear leg, and though it does not seem to both him, over-exercising and excessive jumping should be avoided. He rides great in the car and is more then happy to be your cruising buddy. More on this handsome guy once he's in a foster home - if you're interested in meeting him, don't wait to reach out to your Adoption Coordinator!

Sookie

Gender:

Female

Age:

2 years

Good with:

Kids 8+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home

Especially sweet!

Meet Sookie – the sweetest little fighter you’ll ever meet! ❤️ Sookie lost the ability to use her back legs at a young age, but that doesn't bother her. She is happy as can be, a whiz on her wheels, and can stand up for short periods of time with assistance and has started walking slowly on her own. Caring for Sookie is easier than you might think. All she needs a quick diaper change routine, some exercises to strengthen her back legs, and lots of love! We’ve discovered she has an absolute obsession with tennis balls. She’ll happily chase them in her cart or “retrieve” them during floor time – her joy is contagious! She loves to play and snuggle with her foster’s three resident dogs, sleeps next to Foster Mom while she's at her desk, and her adorable little head tilt will melt your heart. Her back legs continue to get strong. Many times she will eat her meal standing up while using an elevated bowl. She is an incredibly sweet girl with a big personality. Sookie is on a routine and communicates clearly when she needs to go out—every day her foster family gets better at understanding the “Sookie language.” She has gained weight, continues to grow stronger, and shows so much resilience. Sookie is wonderful with dogs of all sizes and truly enjoys their company. She sleeps through the night and spends her days relaxing with the resident dogs and humans. Her gentle nature and gratitude shine through in everything she does.

If you can find enough love in your heart to care for a disabled dog who will give you only gratitude in return, consider Sookie. She will show you that love truly conquers all. 🐾💛

Spooky

Gender:

Male

Age:

5 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home with a physical fence

His name is Spooky, but he's only sweet!

Rocco/Spooky has been coming out of his shell and thriving in a stable home environment with steady routine! Now, this boy is much more confident — and that confidence turns into a dog who is outgoing, friendly, and socially engaged. He plays well with the other dogs in the home, fitting right into the pack. At home, he's a real socialite! He'd prefer a calm home where his confident personality can be the star of the show, and where he can be a bit of a homebody. He does well on leash and is learning to bring his confidence built inside to public spaces. Overall this boy is sweet, friendly, and capable, and will make a wonderful companion for someone who can help him continue to shine.

Sterling

Gender:

Male

Age:

6 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home with a physical fence

Gorgeous Guy!

Handsome Sterling is a loving, very enthusiastic guy who has been described as a puppy in a 6-year-old body. He greets everything in life with gusto. Sterling is the most cuddly dog in his fosters’ home. He’ll follow them around, become a kitchen speed bump, a couch foot warmer, and even pre-warms the bed at night. He loves to play with the other dogs but needs to be watched with older dogs, as he sometimes plays with a bit too much enthusiasm. He struggles a bit with greeting people calmly, but this gregarious guy is working hard to improve his manners with each new interaction. With the right tools and commands, he is a rock star on leash, able to walk calmly past other dogs and people and listen to commands. He recently went to the vet and did so well walking in and seeing other dogs. If you’re looking for a home security system, he’s a great “alarm” dog, gleefully making sure everyone knows when a potential new friend is coming up the driveway. Sterling wants to be his best boy and has been working hard on his training. He can be a bit stubborn, but repetition is the key to success, and now that he knows the expectations he continues to succeed. He is excited to find his forever home and is dreaming of someone who embraces his quirks and is willing to continue with his training, being patient yet firm with him. They will be rewarded with an amazing best friend.
