Eddie is a sweet, easygoing, boy who is an absolute joy. He gets along beautifully with other dogs and has a really nice social sense. He has some typical adolescent energy, but with structure, exercise, and enrichment, he’s already showing how nicely he settles. Eddie would thrive in a home with a large, fenced yard where he can stretch his legs and enjoy the fresh air. He’s the kind of dog who will fit into just about any home. He’s affectionate, adaptable, and has a wonderful, steady temperament. He’s going to make an incredibly loyal and loving companion for a very lucky family.

Fiona is a very friendly girl with lots of energy for her age. She gets along with and plays very well with the resident dog. She is very good at retrieving and likes to catch the balls and frisbees in the air. She enjoys chew toys especially and running in the yard with the resident dog. Fiona will sit on command and will come to you when calling her name. She walks well with a harness and does better in a quieter area where there are fewer cars and trucks. Right now she’s walking several miles a day and enjoying playtime with the resident dog! She takes her time and chews her food and doesn’t inhale it like the resident dog. Fiona is a cuddler, and very affectionate with foster dad.

This cutie has a lot of energy for a 6-year-old pup. Beautiful Franchesca enjoys a game of fetch and usually brings the ball or toy back. Franchesca is a lovebug who finds no greater joy in life than a good snuggle. Franchesca does well with other dogs and people of any size. She has a big heart she is happy to share with anybody that wants to scratch her belly. She is an adorable pup with a loving spirit who brings joy into every room she goes--a dog so full of love that your home will be too on her first night. She has been running her energy off in the yard. So far, she has shown herself to be a smart and curious gal. More to come as she decompresses and her fosters get to know her better.

Handsome Gunner is done playing house hopscotch! Things are looking up now though! Gunner is a friendly, affectionate boy who adores being with people. He was crated for most of his life, so he loves even just sitting with kind people. Fortunately, Gunner doesn't need the crate. He has had free reign of his other intended homes with no accidents or issues with chewing things he shouldn't. Gunner knows a few cues like sit, stay, lay down, nope, and "Gunner come here." Gunner is proving to be an excellent houseguest in foster. He knows basic commands, and is quickly improving on waiting. He is good in the car, good in the house, and good passing dogs on a walk. He has the cutest tail that is a cross between a Lab and an otter. Gunner loves a good belly rub and a little fetch, although he is more into chasing than returning. Gunner has a great smile, a great howl, and a great spirit. We don't know if Gunner likes to fetch or swim, but he did enjoy playing with children and their toys in one of his temporary homes. He is good with other dogs and cats (we recommend slow, supervised introductions--Gunner has only sniffed or ignored cats in the past as far as we know). Hailey is a very sweet, pretty, pocket-sized pup who gets along well with humans and dogs alike. She loves to be near her people, including on a leash where she walks well. Hailey is fully house trained, and not particularly food obsessed, which makes her a great roommate. She a quiet girl and a wonderful house guest who just loves to snack, hang, and chill. She loves toys! While she could succeed in almost any home, a fenced yard will be important to manage her interest in squirrels. However, she was reported to be intimidated by cats and not react to chickens. Recent to foster, Hailey has proven to be a good friend and a great companion. 

Charming Hallie is a sweet, friendly, little girl. She was a very calm rider on her long transport and is settling in well at her foster home. She is house trained and figured out the doggie door in about 10 minutes, so she’s smart! Hallie sleeps all night in her crate quietly. This active sweetie plays hard and would love a doggie companion to help her burn off her puppy energy! As with all young pups, she will need commitment to exercise and direction. Hallie enjoys chasing the birds out of the yard, loves toys, and is a master de-stuffer. She takes treats gently, and once she settles in, she’s a great snuggler! Hallie can't wait to snuggle with her loving, forever family. 

Hazel is a very friendly and active pup who likes to be with you and get attention. After being a great mom to her puppies, she is now ready to find her new home. She's a good girl who comes when called and takes her treats pretty gently. She rides well in the car, just settles down and takes a nap. After her puppies were weaned, she slept in foster's bedroom at first on a dog bed then on the bed with her other dogs. Hazel needs daily walks and exercise. If she gets bored, she will jump the fence, as she just wants to see what's on the other side. She is looking for a family that has a fenced yard and will give her the love, exercise, and training she needs to thrive. She is a very good dog and will make some lucky family a super companion.

Darling Ilia came to us from a very crowded situation and a rough start, but now he’s dreaming of a family to call his own. Ilia is a young pup, and his new family will delight in the many joys of puppy love, abundant energy, silly antics, and the invaluable bonding experience of working with him on his required training. He is good with other dogs and would love a canine sibling or two to play with. Ilia is eager to explore all the fun things in life, like cuddles, soft beds, toys, and family adventures! He is a bit shy at first, but give him treats and a minute, and he’ll be your best buddy! 

Sweet, gentle Jacey has really started to come out of her shell. She’s still a bit timid, but she’s such a happy girl. When the mood strikes, she’ll join in playtime; and when she’s done, she’s perfectly content relaxing in her crate or curled up in her bed. She travels beautifully in the car and is truly such an easy, delightful dog to have around. Her favorite thing is playing with her best friend, the resident dog! They love to wrestle and run about in the yard. Jacey is so excited to see her friend every morning. She will need a home with another dog who is just as playful and confident as her newest friend. Although she may never be a super cuddle-bug and will startle if you move too quickly in the house or yard, she is a gentle, kind soul who wants so much to be loved, she's continuing to work on being brave in order get the attention she seems to crave. Jacey is considered hospice due to the malignant growth in her mouth, but someone forgot to tell her. Her zest for life is contagious! Her tail does not stop wagging! Jacey is such a sweet, happy companion who just wants love and gentle pets from her patient people.

After spending far too much time at the shelter, Jiggy has continued to do well in foster while living with multiple other dogs. She has stolen the heart of her current foster with her playfulness and personality. She understands a few basic commands, and shows a willingness to learn more. She also absolutely loves walks but will need continued help on a leash. Jiggy plays appropriately with other dogs and can live in a multi-dog home, but she does not require a canine companion. This sweet girl will thrive in an active home with adopters who have prior dog experience and feel comfortable managing a confident, vocal player. A fenced yard where she can run and play safely would be highly beneficial. With the right guidance and understanding, Jiggy will be a devoted, fun, and affectionate companion. She's a great dog! Jiggy did well with the training she just completed. She and her new family are entitled to a complimentary 7-week Good Manners Class at Peaceable Paws, LLC in Fairplay, MD for being part of the basic manners program! What a fun way to bond!

Cutie-pie Keller was rescued from an overcrowded situation, but he's put all that behind him and is ready to start a new life with his forever family. He may have had a rough start, but he’s up and running now! Keller is very much a puppy, so his new family will get to enjoy puppy snuggles, energy and antics, and the priceless bonding experience of working with him on his required training. The staff at the kennel has been wonderful, spending a lot of time with him. He’s working on his leash manners and has learned to play with toys, which he likes to carry around. Keller is very excited to explore fun things with his new family. Could that be you?

This little guy really is shining! At 6 months he is already 55 pounds, so he's going to be a good size pup. His foster calls him Mr. Buttons as he is cute as a button! He also has a shining personality and loves to romp with other dogs, play with squeaky toys, go for car rides, and hang with his people. At his foster home, he is figuring out the routine, and hasn't had an accident in days! He has even been allowed overnight time outside of the crate and did well. Kodiak is a very sweet, happy boy who is on the smaller side. Found as a stray, he's dreaming about finding his forever family. He's friendly and outgoing, good on leash, and a good rider. He's keeping his run clean and is loved by the staff at the vet. More on this great guy as we get him to foster, hopefully soon. 

Handsome Kuma is a wonderfully affectionate young guy who loves everyone he meets and greets them with a wagging tail and a hopeful look! He’s incredibly smart, food-motivated, and loves to learn. This fun-loving, energetic young pup needs an active home where his people can keep up with his abundant energy. He would love a fenced back yard to chase squirrels and a porch where he can curl up with his human to watch the world go by. He is inquisitive and attentive, making him a great training partner and companion. Affectionate Kuma will reward you with lots of love and cuddles. Kuma does great with routines. He loves to walk the neighborhood each morning and now that he is familiar with the route and the dogs he encounters along the way, he hardly pulls at all. He sits very nicely and just observes things when asked to. He loves puzzle toys and chasing after balls. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and a big personality, Kuma might just be your perfect match. He wants to be your guy.
