Important Notes:

  • Finding Your Perfect Match: Below are brief descriptions of some of our dogs that are available for adoption. Because the list is constantly changing, we recommend that you apply to adopt as soon as you are ready and work with an Adoption Coordinator, who can provide you with more info about dogs that are a good match for you and your lifestyle.

  • Adopting with Children: The safety of children in an adoptive home is one of our greatest priorities. Learn more about our approach to placing dogs in homes where little ones are present.

  • Adopting as a Townhome or Apartment Resident: As many of our dogs come from rural areas—where they have limited exposure to cars, new people and dogs, unexpected noises, and being leashed—we may limit placements for some dogs to single-family homes. Learn more >

  • Adopting & Fences: We require fences for some of our dogs for a range of reasons. Learn more >

  • Heartworm: About ten percent of our dogs are diagnosed with Heartworm disease during their initial vetting. Heartworm is treatable, and Lab Rescue provides treatment for all infected dogs at no cost to the adopter. Learn more >

Grandad

Gender:

Male

Age:

10 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs, No Cats

Needs:

A loving forever home

Gentle senior

THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.

Grandad is doing well in his foster home. He is house trained and his foster mom has never tried to put him in a crate because it is unnecessary. Grandad goes to the door when he needs to go out and enjoys being outside. He does not need a fenced yard but he does like to meander. Grandad sleeps through the night - upstairs - by his choice. The stairs are challenging for him but he can do them. Grandad’s walks are very short and slow, about 5 minutes; he loves to go and wait at the door as leashes are attached. He is a very patient guy. Grandad interacts with the quieter resident dogs and stays out of the way of the most active. He doesn’t need to live with another dog but would like a human companion around most of the time. He spends much of his day on the couch and generally very gingerly climbs onto it. His greatest bursts of energy occur occasionally when he vaults onto the couch. Grandad is a lovely and undemanding companion.

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home

Sweet as honey!

THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.

Honey is ready to find her forever home! She is a classic Lab: affectionate, Velcro, and constantly smiling. Honey gets along with everyone she meets and rarely barks. She might need a big girl boost into the car, but she still likes a couple 30-minute walks per day when the weather’s not too hot. She is smart and knows the commands sit, no, and pee-pee. She would like a home without many stairs and will need some help getting into a car. This sweet girl has gone through some upheaval recently in her life, but she still has plenty of love to share with a new family. This Honey bun is looking forward to riding out her remaining years with a loving family.

Honey would love to meet you: https://youtube.com/shorts/eUprUtf540g?feature=shared

Jacey

Gender:

Female

Age:

9 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home with a physical fence and another dog

Happy girl just finding her way!

Sweet, gentle Jacey has really started to come out of her shell. She’s still a bit timid, but she’s such a happy girl. When the mood strikes, she’ll join in playtime; and when she’s done, she’s perfectly content relaxing in her crate or curled up in her bed. She travels beautifully in the car and is truly such an easy, delightful dog to have around. Her favorite thing is playing with her best friend, the resident dog! They love to wrestle and run about in the yard.  She will need a home with another dog who is just as playful and confident as her newest friend. Although she may never be a super cuddle-bug and will startle if you move too quickly in the house or yard, she is a gentle, kind soul who wants so much to be loved, she's continuing to work on being brave in order get the attention she seems to crave. Jacey is considered hospice due to the malignant growth in her mouth, but someone forgot to tell her. Her zest for life is contagious! Her tail does not stop wagging!

Jaxx and Jett

Gender:

Male/Male Bonded Pair

Age:

1 year

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home with a physical fence

Best Buds!

Jaxx and Jett are bonded siblings. Jett is outgoing and will come up to greet you, Jaxx is a little shy at first and hangs back to see what Jett is going to do. Once they meet you they come up to get attention and treats. They are friendly and love being with people. When they are out playing and retrieving, they race each other to see who gets the toy first. Jaxx is a little faster but Jett gets his share. They take treats nicely, better have two if they are together as they both expect to get one. They slept with their previous owner either on a dog bed or on her bed. They would like to have an active family with a fenced yard that will give them love, attention, training and lots of exercise so they can thrive.

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home

Dynamic Mother/Daughter Duo

Jodie and Ginger are a dynamic bonded duo and must be adopted together. This mother (Jodie) and daughter (Ginger) pair came from a breeding farm. It's unknown how many litters they had. Ginger absolutely cannot live without her mom but still tries to push her boundaries like a lot of daughters do to their moms! Ginger will try to be the boss and push Jodie out of the way to get attention and eat some of her food. They both walk nicely on lead. They have never lived in a house and have not been exposed to indoor living so they will need a patient family who will allow them time to adjust. These lovely ladies are super friendly and easy going. They both love hugs! Jodie and Ginger are looking forward to the luxuries of living in a warm, cool, secure home with lots of comfy, squishy beds and reduced-calorie treats after all these years.

Keller

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home with another dog

Cutie-pie Keller

Fun-loving Keller is a happy, energetic puppy who quickly adjusted to life with his foster family! He is eager to please and wants to be his best self when he finds his forever home. He has excellent recall and responds well to commands. Keller loves going for walks and does a great job staying on your left side. A typical young Lab, Keller is very strong and loves to run and play. He and the resident dog have a great time wrestling and playing together. Keller will thrive in a home with another playful dog. He is housebroken and sleeps peacefully in his own bed at night and entertains himself with toys when he wakes up. Keller loves bones and enjoys chewing on appropriate toys. Most importantly, Keller is an absolute lover. His favorite thing is being around his people and will be his happiest if his people are home more than not. Kobe

Gender:

Male

Age:

3 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home. Fence: negotiable - if exercise needs can be met

Lovable goofball!

Adorable Kobe is a friendly goofball who likes to be on the move. He’ll keep you on your toes - unless he’s sitting on your lap. Kobe loves balls and takes ball security very seriously. He loves fetch and is a pro at it. Car rides? Let’s go! Being brushed? Oh, yes please! A game of tug? Anytime! He's the undefeated champ – in a loving way. He was very good with the dogs he played with at the shelter and has been good with the resident pup. He also met a cat at the shelter and seemed fine. The cat didn’t run, but Kobe also didn’t treat kitty like a stuffy – so he might be ok with a dog-savvy cat. He’ll bark at you to play and then go entertain himself – he just wants to be certain you are watching him so you can tell him ‘good boy’! He’s emotionally independent but would also love a playmate! Kobe is the most enthusiastically, chaotically, whole-heartedly loving, loable dog you will ever meet… or adopt. I know you’re thinking about it!

Kuma

Gender:

Male

Age:

4 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs, No Cats

Needs:

A loving forever home with a physical fence and only dog in the home

Big-hearted guy!

If you’re looking for a quiet couch potato, keep scrolling. But if you love dogs with big personalities, endless enthusiasm, and a zest for life that’s impossible to ignore, Kuma just might be your perfect match. Kuma is a handsome black Lab with a huge heart and an equally big voice. He wears his emotions on his sleeve—whether he’s excited to see you, ready to play, or hoping you’ll throw one more ball, you’ll always know exactly how he’s feeling. Life with Kuma is never boring. He is completely house- and crate-trained and has lived successfully with other dogs. While he’s not a candidate for dog parks and isn’t the type of dog who wants to greet every canine he sees on leash, he can do very well with the right easygoing female companion after thoughtful introductions. Kuma thrives with people who enjoy interacting with their dog. He loves training, enrichment activities, sniffing adventures, and being involved in whatever you’re doing. If you enjoy living life with your dog instead of simply owning one, Kuma would love to meet you.

Maddie/Prada

Gender:

Female

Age:

11 months

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs, Cats

Needs:

A loving forever home with a physical fence

Pretty pup!

Maddie (FKA Prada) is going to be some adopter’s perfect pup. She is a quirky, sensitive girl who forms a deep bond with her person very quickly. Once you’re “her person,” you’ll have a loyal little shadow who just wants to be near you. She has excellent house manners—she’s crate trained, housebroken, and settles nicely when left alone. No separation anxiety here—just a preference for being close when you’re home. She's more reserved meeting new people, taking her time to warm to them. Having the ability to retreat to her safe space (a cozy crate with something good to chew) helps her relax and accept visitors calmly. With other dogs, Maddie is polite but a bit unsure. She has recently enjoyed some doggy play, but she’s not looking for a high-energy canine companion. If placed with another dog, it should be an easygoing, laid back older dog. Maddie LOVES being outside. She will happily spend hours in a yard, often choosing to rest quietly by the back door or explore at her own pace. A securely fenced yard is going to be very important for her happiness. Maddie is looking for a calm, predictable home with few comings and goings. The noise and activity of children or teenagers would likely be overwhelming for her although she is approved for kids aged 10 and older. A quieter household—whether a single person or a couple—will likely allow her to truly bond and thrive.

The world of sweet Markie and Lil Joe continues to get better everyday. There has been tremendous positive change for these two over the last few months. Lil Joe has no trepidation about humans and will greet you to say hello. Markie still likes treats to say hello, but she will stick around for pets too. These two currently reside with a foster who runs a doggy daycare, and they absolutely love the other dogs. They greet the humans at the gate, but their true desire is playing with their four-legged friends when they get a chance. Their foster says they settle down well and have a nice demeanor. Markie (nicknamed CiCi) and LJ (nicknamed Bubba) aren't super in your space snugglers, but they will sleep close to you. Their gorgeous eyes that used to be full of fear are now full of curiosity and understanding. Their next owner will spend years lost in those eyes!I Wouldn't you like to share your love and your home with this delightful duo? The reward of trust will melt your heart!  🖤

Nellie

Gender:

Female

Age:

4 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs, No Cats

Needs:

A loving forever home with another dog

Charming Nellie

Sweet Nellie has settled into her foster home nicely. She is great with dogs of all sizes and gets along well with the senior resident Lab. However, she loves being with her humans most and would prefer to be in a home where they are around more often than not. Nellie likes to snuggle at her humans’ feet or next to them on the couch. At night, she sleeps in her crate or beside her fosters’ bed. She loves playing and retrieving in the fenced yard. Nellie is generally quite easy to have around, but she does become a bit of a “nervous nellie” during storms. Her fosters have developed a routine to manage her fears with a combination of pre-storm medication, white noise, and crate confinement (which she accepts as her safe space). With a little proactive attention to making her feel safe, she has made great progress. Nellie is a beautiful, sensitive girl who will make a very loving companion.

Happy girl!

Nova has settled into her foster home nicely and is looking forward to bringing joy, laughter, and lots of love to her future forever family. She rides well in the car, is pretty good on leash, and is incredibly playful and sweet. She knows a few commands and comes when you call her, especially for food! Nova is very inquisitive and loves to sniff around, checking things out. She’s getting used to new people, places, and sounds (but will sometimes jump at loud noises). This smart girl will flourish with a regular morning routine. She can be high-energy or mellow and is happy to relax on her bed, in your lap, or wherever you happen to be. Nova has an an extremely affectionate side and a goofy side. Her foster family bought her a kiddie pool! She had a lot of fun during her first foray into the water. See Nova showing off how to have fun on a hot day! This little girl will steal your heart!
