SENIORS

Important Notes:

  • Finding Your Perfect Match: Below are brief descriptions of some of our dogs that are available for adoption. Because the list is constantly changing, we recommend that you apply to adopt as soon as you are ready and work with an Adoption Coordinator, who can provide you with more info about dogs that are a good match for you and your lifestyle.

  • Adopting with Children: The safety of children in an adoptive home is one of our greatest priorities. Learn more about our approach to placing dogs in homes where little ones are present.

  • Adopting as a Townhome or Apartment Resident: As many of our dogs come from rural areas—where they have limited exposure to cars, new people and dogs, unexpected noises, and being leashed—we may limit placements for some dogs to single-family homes. Learn more >

  • Adopting & Fences: We require fences for some of our dogs for a range of reasons. Learn more >

  • Heartworm: About ten percent of our dogs are diagnosed with Heartworm disease during their initial vetting. Heartworm is treatable, and Lab Rescue provides treatment for all infected dogs at no cost to the adopter. Learn more >

A loving forever home with a physical fence and only dog in the home

...with our hearts a-thumping and you,my brown-eyed girl

THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE FOR BLOSSOM IS $125.

Sweet Eleanor is an absolute gem! This brown-eyed girl with pretty silver frosting is a smaller dog with an enormous loving heart - her humans are the most important things in her life. Her other joys are cuddles, hugs, belly rubs, several "stop, drop and rolls" on her walks, sharing her gentle Lab-lean, and frequently deciding that you really must want her on your lap as much as possible. She can usually be found in the same room as her foster parents, napping close-by during the work day and cuddled up watching TV with them at night. She is wonderfully behaved in the house, takes direction well, and is very anxious to please. Additionally, she is a very keen observer/monitor of all kitchen activities, with her helpfulness extending to floor cleanup should any morsel hit the ground. Though other dogs will never be her cup of tea, this loving, easy-going girl just wants to be close to her people...that's all she requires. She enjoys a quieter home, calm walks, and loves her routines. She is incredibly easy and happy, an absolute pleasure. Eleanor really is a delight, waking up each morning with tail wags and Lab-leans, happy to start another day with her people.

Finn #3

Male

Age:

10 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home

Fabulous Finn is a pup at heart!

THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.

Finn is the sweetest, most laid-back guy his foster parents have met in a long time. He loves being close to his humans and is always ready for a pet. He gets along well with every dog he’s ever met. Finn is always primed to go out, whether it be for a walk, a sniff, or to say hello to neighbors. His fosters take a little longer to get ready, so he does a tap dance, runs back and forth to show where his leash is, and then he sits (wiggles) and waits for his leash and gentle leader to be put on. He loves to greet people, and any person walking past becomes his new best friend. Finn also loves to eat, and if anyone is in the kitchen, he is right there, offering to help. Finn moves when you move, sleeps when you sleep, and eats like it's the there's no tomorrow. He loves his people, treats, and is always up for a car ride. At the end of the day, he cozies up on his special night-time bed and sleeps 9 or 10 hours. If he's awake before that, he just rests his eyes until the day starts. He even lets you sleep in on the weekends! Don't let Finn's age fool you -- he can run like a 3-year-old and hikes 3-5 miles every day. He's calm, patient, and sweet, just a great dog! Don't you need a great dog in your life?

Male

Age:

10 years

Good with:

Kids 10+, Dogs

Needs:

A loving forever home

Looking for a life of leisure

THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.

Sweet Jax is a gentle soul who just wants to be with his people. Ideally, he would be able to sit beside you with his paw on your leg all day but will settle for a soft bed at your feet. He does well with slow, quiet introductions to new people and calm dogs. A bouncy, playful dog can be too frightening. This lovely gentleman would be comfortable as an only dog or with another laid-back senior dog. Jax enjoys hanging with family and friends and taking long, leisurely walks. If you have a soft spot for silver muzzles, come meet this wonderful pup-at-heart today!

Mellow Fellow

THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.

Sweet gentleman Moss is looking for a place to snooze and practice his mellow lifestyle. He is enjoying life on the farm with his foster family while he waits for his family to come. He likes to meander around the yard, lay in the sun, and then meander some more. He is currently living with many dogs from chihuahua to mastiff and is doing great. He does not really like young, bouncy in-your-face dogs and prefers the slower pace of all the seniors of all sizes where he is. He would prefer a low key lifestyle with limited steps and mellow dogs. Moss would be fine being an only dog as well. He just needs a yard to roam, some soft dog beds, tasty vittles and some sun spots to snooze in. Did we mention his a champion napper??
